Finishing systems
Technocolor's ready-made finishing schedules: which products, in what order and at what ratios — with a batch calculator for every step.
- High-gloss finish for MDF bathroom fronts (PE + PU)MDF (bathroom furniture fronts, including routed ones)Opaque high-gloss enamel (white or tinted to RAL/NCS), 100 gloss, polished to a mirror finish over a thick, non-shrinking polyester primer.Steps: 15 · PU sealer (PTS71+PC72) → polyester primer ×2 (EPS20+EA1+EC1) → 2K PU gloss enamel (PPL200+AC200) → polished
- Finishing raised-panel doors (PU)Raised-panel doors in solid wood/veneer: flat areas plus routed profilesStained clear PU finish with visible grain: matt to satin depending on the PTL20 grade (5–30 gloss), hard and chemical-resistant, for interior doorsSteps: 14 · 2K polyurethane (aromatic isocyanate PC25) over solvent-borne dye stain CTU + CFS1 binder
- Solid-oak coffin finishing (clear high-gloss polyester / PU)Solid oak (coffins and funeral caskets), open-pored woodClear, stained, high-gloss (about 100 GU) closed-pore finish with a thick 'lens'. The thixotropic topcoat does not sag on the coffin's vertical sides.Steps: 10 · CIT solvent stain → 2× PE (unsaturated polyester, peroxide/accelerator cure) clear primer → 2K PU thixotropic 100-gloss topcoat
- Finishing polyurethane-foam (PU) mouldingsCast polyurethane-foam parts: mouldings, cornices, beading, carved décor and onlays. Degrease the foam and remove mould-release (wax/silicone) before priming.Opaque coloured finish (white or any RAL/NCS) with patina left in the recesses of the relief, under a heavy coat of high-gloss (100 gloss) clear PU lacquer.Steps: 10 · 2K PU (polyurethane): PU primer for PU foam + PU enamel + solvent patina + 2K PU high-gloss clear
- Oak kitchen fronts with a decapé (limed-pore) effect — acrylic systemSolid oak or oak veneer kitchen fronts, including routed panels with exposed MDFA coloured (RAL/NCS) matt enamel finish with open pores: the oak pores are picked out in white (decapé), the profile is accented with patina, and a non-yellowing clear lacquer goes on top.Steps: 13 · 2K acrylic (acrylic-polyurethane, aliphatic isocyanate hardener AC40); solvent-borne CQS patina
- Parquet finishing (UV-cure roller line)Parquet and engineered flooring (solid or veneered hardwood), flat boards on a UV roller-coating lineA clear (optionally tinted) closed-pore floor finish, satin 30–40 gloss, highly abrasion- and scratch-resistant; ready to pack straight off the line.Steps: 14 · UV-cure acrylate (1K, 100 % solids roller materials) over a tintable low-solids UV primer; optional water-based dye (CTH)
- UV finishing of flat anegre-veneered panelsFlat furniture panels veneered with anegre (a pale, even-grained African hardwood), pigment-stainedStained, closed-pore anegre: variant (a) thin matt topcoat (~30 gloss, natural-wood look); variant (b) thick high-gloss lacquer (~100 gloss) that can be polished.Steps: 15 · Solvent-borne pigment stain (CPS + CFC3 binder + S90) under a UV-curing acrylate build: 100 %-solids UV filler + 2 UV roller sealer coats; topcoat either a 100 %-solids UV roller lacquer (matt) or a solvent-containing UV curtain lacquer (gloss). All UV materials are 1K — no hardener, no pot life.
- Mouldings and picture-frame stock — UV finishSolid-wood mouldings and picture-frame stock (profiles, frame mouldings, trims), prepared with K60–K80 abrasive brushes.Transparent stained finish that keeps the wood grain visible, 40-gloss semi-matt clear; inline process with UV curing — parts can be packed as soon as they cool.Steps: 9 · UV-cure acrylate (VTS40041 100 %-solids UV primer + VTL30040 solvent-borne UV lacquer) over a solvent-borne dye stain (CTU + CFS1 binder + S12)
- Finishing beech-veneered worktops (PU)Beech-veneered worktops / table tops (veneered face, solid or lipped edges)Stained beech with visible grain and even, blotch-free colour; a clear, hard PU film with semi-closed pores, satin (≈ 30 gloss), resistant to scratches, coffee and household cleaners.Steps: 14 · water-based dye (CTH + CFH1 spray binder) under 2K solvent-borne polyurethane: high-solids clear PU primer PTS60 ×2 (legacy hardener C26 → PC25) + PU worktop lacquer PTL61 ×1 (→ PTL60 SM) with yellowing-resistant hardener (legacy C61 → PC60), slow thinner S70 and 0.5 % CTS lacquer tint
- Finishing beech chairs (PU)Solid beech — chairs (turned and profiled parts, vertical surfaces)Stained beech with visible grain and even, blotch-free colour; a clear thixotropic PU film with no sags, sheen set by the chosen PTL50 grade (10–90 gloss).Steps: 11 · water-based dye (CTH + CFH2 binder) under 2K solvent-borne polyurethane: thixotropic PU primer PTS50 ×2 + thixotropic PU lacquer PTL50 ×1, aromatic isocyanate hardener (legacy C50 → PC20/PC25)
- Open-pore finish for oak kitchen doors (acrylic)Oak (solid or veneer) — kitchen cabinet doors, including profiled onesToned oak with open pores picked out by glaze and patina, under a non-yellowing clear acrylic lacquer at 10–40 GUSteps: 14 · 2K acrylic (acrylic polyol + aliphatic isocyanate AC40) over solvent-borne pigment glaze, patina and dye
